Rule 10
PETROLEUM CONTRACT
: (1) No bidder for a petroleum work shall ordinarily be awarded more than two exploration sections.
(2) Subject to sub-rule (1), one petroleum contract may be entered into for more than one exploration section.
(3) Petroleum contract shall be executed in Nepali or English language in the format as per Schedule-2 with additions and subtractions as approved by the Government of Nepal.
(4) On behalf of the Government of Nepal, the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry will sign the Petroleum Agreement.
(5) If the contractor violates the petroleum contract made according to this rule, the Government of Nepal may cancel the said contract. Before canceling the contract, the contractor should be given a reasonable opportunity to submit a clarification.
